Alexander Wolf

Managing Partner

Alex is Managing Partner and Founder of Kingswood Capital Management. He oversees firm-wide management, the strategic direction of the firm and leads the firm’s investment team. Alex has been a private equity investor since 1997, having completed dozens of investments, with several billion dollars deployed across a wide range of industry sectors, including: software, media, telecommunications and technology, business services, gaming, manufacturing, upstream energy and energy services, paper and packaging, retail and consumer products. Alex has significant expertise in M&A, corporate strategy, turnarounds, restructuring and merger integration.

Before founding Kingswood, Alex was at two leading private equity firms, as an original member of both the Ares Management investment team and the Cerberus Capital Management private equity team. As a Partner and Managing Director in the Cerberus Capital Management private equity practice, Alex led or co-led the acquisitions of companies from global Fortune 500 corporations, entrepreneurs and the public equity markets. Alex began his career in the leverage finance group of Wells Fargo.

Alex founded Kingswood in 2013 with the goal of creating a private investment firm focused on building a portfolio of high-quality companies operating in the middle-market. Kingswood’s investment philosophy is to partner with management teams to create long-term, sustainable value for businesses in transition or exhibiting the potential for operational improvement. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

James Renna

Partner and Lead Operating Partner

James is a Partner at Kingswood and responsible for business strategy and operations at Kingswood’s portfolio companies. He works closely with the firm’s investment team, network of Operating Executives and portfolio company executive management to drive strategic initiatives and to recruit and deploy operating resources. James spent nearly a decade as a senior member of the Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, where he was responsible for governance and oversight of Cerberus Capital Management-controlled portfolio companies in the healthcare services, biotech, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, media and retail industries.

Prior to his time at Kingswood and in addition to his role at the Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, James served as the Founder and CEO of Capital Leaps, an operations and advisory group serving middle-market private equity firms. He also served as Corporate Vice President and Chief Restructuring Officer at MCI Communications/WorldCom. In that role, he was a member of the executive team that led the restructuring and sale to Verizon Communications.

Over the course of his career, James has served the roles of CEO, CFO, COO and CRO in various sponsor backed companies.

James holds a Bachelor of Science from Princeton University and an MBA from Duke University.

Michael Niegsch

Partner

Michael is a Partner at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. He has an extensive background in control investing in the middle-market across a variety of industries and transaction types, including, buyouts of family- and entrepreneur-owned businesses, corporate divestitures, operational turnarounds, and restructurings.

Prior to Kingswood, Michael spent eight years at Comvest Partners, an operationally-focused middle market investment firm, where he was a Principal in the firm’s private equity strategy. At Comvest he was responsible for evaluating, executing and monitoring control investments. Michael served on the board of numerous Comvest portfolio companies in an oversight capacity.

Before joining Comvest, Michael worked in investment banking at UBS Investment Bank and Morgan Joseph TriArtisan. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with High Distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Ivane Chou

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer

Ivane is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Kingswood.  She is responsible for finance, accounting, compliance, and general administration at Kingswood.  Prior to Kingswood, Ivane served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at High Road Capital Partners, a New York based middle-market private equity firm.  Prior to her 12 years at High Road Capital Partners, Ivane worked at Francisco Partners, a global private equity firm focused on investments in technology.  Ivane received a B.S. in Management Science from the University of California, San Diego and an accounting certificate with distinction from University of California, Berkeley.

Andrew Kovach

Managing Director

Andrew is a Managing Director at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to Kingswood, Andrew spent six years at Platinum Equity, an operationally-focused private equity firm, where he was a Vice President in the firm’s M&A Execution group. During his time at Platinum, Andrew gained extensive experience with complex transactions, including corporate divestitures, and was responsible for monitoring control investments. Before joining Platinum, Andrew worked in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey and risk consulting at Ernst & Young. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Christopher Basham

Managing Director

Chris is a Managing Director at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Chris was a Principal at TPG Capital, where he led investments in the consumer and service sectors.  Prior to joining TPG, Chris spent nine years at AEA Investors, focused on control investments in the middle market. Chris began his career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College.

Clayton Lechleiter

Principal

Clayton is a Principal at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight.  Prior to joining Kingswood, Clayton was an Associate Analyst at Imperial Capital, where he published capital structure research on stressed and distressed companies in various industries. Previously, Clayton was an Associate at Madison Dearborn Partners and an Analyst at Moelis & Company. Clayton graduated magna cum laude from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science, Economics.

Daniel Lisowski

Vice President

Daniel is a Vice President at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Daniel was a Private Equity Associate at Alvarez & Marsal Capital. Previously, Daniel was an Associate at Lazard and an Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Daniel holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University College of Business.

Viswa Maramreddy

Vice President

Viswa is a Vice President at Kingswood and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and monitoring investments. Prior to Kingswood, Viswa was a Vice President at MiddleGround Capital, an operationally focused private equity firm. During his time at MiddleGround, Viswa executed multiple platform investments and drove various portfolio initiatives.  Viswa began his career as an Analyst at Prudential Private Capital and was an Associate at Farol Asset Management. Viswa holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Oliver Quintero

Vice President

Oliver is a Vice President at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Oliver was with The Sterling Group, an operationally focused private equity firm. During his time at Sterling, he supported numerous platform investments and completed multiple add-on acquisitions in the Industrials sector. Previously, Oliver was with Deutsche Bank’s Leveraged Finance group in New York, delivering capital structure solutions to clients in the Consumer Retail, Healthcare, and Real Estate sectors. Oliver is a graduate of Princeton University with an AB from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs.

Derrek Ross

Vice President

Derrek is a Vice President at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to Kingswood, Derrek was a Senior Associate at KPS Capital Partners, an operationally-focused private equity firm. During his time at KPS, Derrek gained extensive experience with complex transactions and was responsible for monitoring control investments within the industrials industry. Previously, Derrek spent four years at Kinderhook Industries, a middle-market investment firm, and worked in investment banking at Macquarie Capital in the aerospace, defense, and government services group. He graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Allister Aaron

Vice President, Portfolio Operations

Allister is a Vice President, Portfolio Operations at Kingswood and works closely with the firm’s investment team, network of Operating Executives, and portfolio company executive management to drive strategic initiatives and to recruit and deploy operating resources. Prior to Kingswood, Allister was the Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Strategic Metals (“USSM”), an integrated battery metals mine and processing facility headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. While at USSM, Allister led a variety of capital markets processes, raising approximately $385 million during his tenure which culminated in a $230 million investment from Appian Capital. He also directed the initial carve-out of USSM and his management responsibilities included corporate finance, accounting, procurement, human resources, and information technology. Previously, Allister worked at HPS Investment Partners in the private credit strategy and focused on senior debt capital solutions for the middle market and special situations. He graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

Bob Cirillo

Senior Associate

Bob is a Senior Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Bob was an Associate in the Global Industrials Group at Goldman Sachs, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, equity issuances, and activism defense. Bob holds a BS in Economics from The Ohio State University, a MS in Applied Statistics from Loyola University Chicago, and a MBA from Columbia Business School.

Nicholas Duncan

Associate

Nicholas is an Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to Kingswood, Nicholas was an investment banking analyst in the Industrials group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Nicholas graduated from Brown University with a degree in economics.

At Kingswood, Nicholas is involved with Mountain Equipment Company, Turbo Wholesale Tires, Covenant Testing Technologies and Progress Lighting.

Ryan Kamm

Associate

Ryan is an Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Ryan was with Marlin Equity Partners.  During his time at Marlin, he supported numerous platform investments and completed multiple add-on acquisitions.  Previously, Ryan was with PJT Partners in San Francisco, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and other strategic initiatives.  Ryan is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with BA in Economics.

Edward Manukyan

Associate

Edward is an Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Edward was an Analyst in the Global Industries Group at UBS, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, and equity issuances.  Edward is a graduate of Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management with a Master of Science in Finance and a graduate of UC – Irvine’s School of Biological Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Ben Palmer

Associate

Ben is an Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Ben was an Associate in the Private Equity Group at Ares Management, focused on executing and monitoring control investments across the business services, industrials, consumer, and healthcare sectors. Previously, Ben worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan in the M&A group and Houlihan Lokey in the Business Services Group. Ben is a graduate of Tulane University with a B.S.M. in Finance from the Freeman School of Business.

Brandon Sucaldito

Associate

Brandon is an Associate at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to joining Kingswood, Brandon was an Associate in the Healthcare Group at Morgan Stanley, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, equity issuances and activism defense. Previously, Brandon was with UBS Investment Bank’s Global Healthcare Group. Brandon is a graduate of New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing.

Mikel Pers

Controller

Mikel is a Controller at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. Previously, Mikel served as Controller at Gemini-Rosemont Realty, a commercial real estate investment company specializing in Class A multi-tenant office properties. Prior to Gemini-Rosemont Realty, Mikel worked in the Financial Services Office at Ernst & Young, where he led the financial statement audits for various private equity and hedge fund clients. Mikel received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is an active CPA in the state of California.

Matthew Phillipson

Tax Manager

Matt is a Tax Manager at Kingswood and responsible for all aspects of accounting and tax. Prior to joining Kingswood, Matt was with Beach Point Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar investment manager specializing in credit-related investments. Matt managed tax matters relating to investments, managed accounts, special purpose vehicles, and corporate tax compliance. His experience includes opportunistic credit, private equity, and international tax compliance. Prior to Beach Point, Matt spent 6 years at Ernst & Young working on fund and corporate tax compliance for private equity and hedge fund clients. Matt received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies Economics at the University of California at San Diego.

Evelyn Selzer

Office Manager

Evelyn is an Office Manager at Kingswood and responsible for general office administration.  She came to Kingswood with more than a decade of office management experience in multiple industries, most recently real estate and legal.  Evelyn graduated with honors from University of Arizona and holds a BA in Journalism with a secondary focus in Spanish.

Lori Azoulay

Executive Assistant

Lori is an Executive Assistant at Kingswood where she works closely with the senior team members, providing administrative and office support. Prior to Kingswood, Lori supported administrative operations for high-level executives in financial services, including Odyssey Investment Partners and Bank of America. Lori graduated from Oakland Community College with a major in Business Administration.
