In November 2025, Kingswood acquired Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of essential medical products used primarily in the home setting, from CD&R. The company was later renamed Drive Medical.
Drive Medical provides a comprehensive portfolio of mobility, respiratory, and homecare products. Drive was founded in 2000, and in 2015 acquired DeVilBiss Healthcare, a respiratory care company dating back to 1888. With excellent brand recognition, deep market penetration, and a strong leadership team–alongside durable long-term demand fundamentals as populations age and increasing home-based care–Drive was a compelling investment opportunity for Kingswood.
Drive is also an excellent case study in the Kingswood playbook around strategic add-on acquisitions. Just two months after closing, Drive Medical acquired Compass Health, a diversified supplier of branded and private-label consumer medical products. Not only did the add-on strengthen Drive Medical’s product portfolio, it expanded the Drive–and the Kingswood-operational network in healthcare and health products.
With Kingswood’s support, Drive Medical is positioned for sustained, long-term growth in its own channels and categories, as well as through continued strategic add-on acquisitions.
The transaction was led by Mike Niegsch.
