
Biography
James is a Partner at Kingswood Capital Management and responsible for business strategy and operations at Kingswood’s portfolio companies. He works closely with the firm’s investment team, network of Operating Executives and portfolio company executive management to drive strategic initiatives and to recruit and deploy operating resources. James spent nearly a decade as a senior member of the Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, where he was responsible for governance and oversight of Cerberus Capital Management-controlled portfolio companies in the healthcare services, biotech, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, media, and retail industries.
Prior to his time at Kingswood and in addition to his role at the Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, James served as the Founder and CEO of Capital Leaps, an operations and advisory group serving middle-market private equity firms. He also served as Corporate Vice President and Chief Restructuring Officer at MCI Communications/WorldCom. In that role, he was a member of the executive team that led the restructuring and sale to Verizon Communications.
Over the course of his career, James has served the roles of CEO, CFO, COO, and CRO in various sponsor backed companies.
James holds a Bachelor of Science from Princeton University and an MBA from Duke University.
